ABS-CBN Australia Country Manager Jay Santos told FMN that his company has entered into a contractual agreement for SKY Television to carry TFC in its platforms.
“ABS-CBN is committed to giving it audience the ability to subscribe to TFC in the platform that is most suitable for them,” said Santos.
“TFC will continue to be available through its popular IPTV Video on Demand service and through TFC.tv. Our audience will now have option to get TFC in these various platforms including Sky Television.”
SKY’s Director of Content Strategy Megan King noted that: “To be able to offer the Philippines’ top TV channel in one of the most spoken languages, Tagalog, underlines the growing importance of this community in New Zealand.
“We believe that this channel will be popular with not only the local Filipino community, but with other communities that have become big fans of Filipino content.”
TFC offers general entertainment in Tagalog, with most of its top rating shows subtitled in English and will be available on SKY Channel 160. The channel is broadcast in Standard Definition (SD).
To subscribe to the channel you must be either a SKY Basic or Broadcast subscriber.
SKY subscribers will be able to sample TFC on Sky’s Channel 160 for a month after the launch date at no extra charge.
